Trivia Question❓

Which giant cowboy greets visitors at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas?

Answer at the bottom of the newsletter

Tesla plans to bring Cybercab rides to Dallas in November, expanding beyond Austin as it aims to run its Robotaxi service around the clock by the end of 2026.

On Tesla’s Q3 earnings call, AI software chief Ashok Elluswamy said the same software powering Cybercabs and Model Y Robotaxis could scale to more cities.

CEO Elon Musk said Austin’s Cybercab fleet has grown tenfold since its launch about a month ago.

Tesla also hopes to deliver Cybercabs to customers by year’s end, add some customer-owned vehicles to the Robotaxi fleet around Q2 2027, and see a noticeable business contribution that year.

At a SpaceX facility near Waco on October 15, Tesla’s long-delayed Roadster raced up a ramp, launched into the air, rotated and landed on its wheels.

Elon Musk said ultra-high-pressure air tanks powered the leap, though he acknowledged the technology might not work as intended and projected production for 2028.

The dramatic Texas demonstration did not show a car carrying passengers or flying between destinations.

Tesla has not announced a price for a flying version, which is not approved for public road use.

Buyers can reserve a non-flying Roadster for $5,000, while the proposed Rocket model with a full flight system is invitation-only.

Regulatory questions remain: federal aviation officials say the Roadster as described does not qualify as an aircraft, leaving oversight of a production flying model unclear.

For Central Texans, the leap was a memorable spectacle, not yet a practical way to travel.
